Positive Post Round-Up Vol. 1
I’ve been zooming around the blogosphere collecting positive and inspiring posts for you. Here is a delicious sampler platter of some of the best that I found. Enjoy!
(While you’re here, you might want to find out about the upcoming Desiderata Project or My Favorite Things Giveaway.)
- Jason at Escape Adulthood recalls a wonderful story about his meeting with a woman named Dorthy, who decided at age seventy that rather than die, she’d rather live a wonderful life. Don’t miss this beautiful post.
And I could see the childlike joy shine from her eyes as she described traveling to Italy for the opera, another life-long dream. “It was so wonderful!” she exclaimed. “They so love their opera over there. The old theater was beautiful, so opulent — and it was even an opera I knew!”
- Chris at soupornuts.com has some great advice on how to have a great day. He challenges us to recognize that we largely shape how our day will develop.
Every action and every feeling begins as a thought in your mind. Therefore, if you can control your thoughts, then you can control your feelings, your actions and ultimately – your life.
- Carlon at Possess Less, Exist More challenges us with the interesting prospect of what to do when you’re happy.
A lot of people are full of advice when you feel down. But what are you supposed to do when you feel happy? I’m happy, so now what?
- Karen at Live The Power reminds us that the stories we tell have the power to shape our reality.
Have you ever noticed that those who speak mostly of prosperity are the ones who have prosperity, those who speak mostly of illness are the ones who are ill?
- David at How to Have Great Self Confidence has a wonderful post for anyone new to the concept of Affirmations.
What you are doing is trying to reprogramming your unconscious mind. Another way of looking at is thinking of the mind as a computer. If you change the input, the output will change accordingly.
- Wendy at Creation Thoughts also wrote on the subject of affirmations. She explores whether an affirmation’s “grammar” matters.
“I am attracting amazing opportunities today,” or “I always attract amazing opportunities.”
- Communicatrix wins my vote for “Best Illustration of the Week” in her exploration of going gray. That picture is guaranteed to make you smile.
- Mary at Becoming YourStellarSelf gets my vote for “Best Title Pun of the Week” with People Who Knead People, her post about the benefits of massage.
- Danny at Be Inspired Every Day offers 10 Ways to Find Time for Inspiration. I needed to hear his advice about saying “no.”
If you are asked to do something that does not resonate with you and your purpose, say “No.” Your time is your life. It is the most valuable thing you have.
- Danny also had excellent advice about how to Enjoy What You Do. Couldn’t we all benefit from resolving to start our day with a positive attitude?
Start each day by praying or stating an intention to be conscious of negative thoughts and change them in midstream. Make a simple statement that you choose to be happy.
- andyi has some great photos hosted at Flickr. I am particularly fond of his comments about the Freak Flag and how we shouldn’t be afraid to fly ours high. Thanks to cheerfulmonk for pointing me there.
- Zoe at Law of Attraction for Inspired Living has some cute new babies in her life, and was overwhelmed by the experience of new life entering the world.
It was truly amazing. It was another incredible reminder of the dazzling miracle of life, operating from an intelligence well beyond our limited comprehension. All we can do is sit and wonder at the beauty and perfection it all.
- Greg at Change Starts Today reminded us to keep track of all of our successes, no matter how small they may seem. I also have a chance for you to win a notebook and planner which would be great for following Greg’s advice!
One thing I have used to focus more on my successes is to create a success journal. Each night before bed, I write 3-5 successes in a tiny notebook by the bed.

Thank you for including me. I am honored to be among so many great posts!

Great round-up; thanks! I shall bookmark it.
I really enjoyed this list! I will definitely bookmark it so I can follow up on all the links. I also have to say that I really like your blog’s ethos. It is similar to the way that I am trying to live my life, consciously and with awareness. You may be really interested in another blog that I read called Heroes Not Zombies which has a similar ethos.
Oh, and you might like to check out my TT post here. It’s about appreciating those closest to us.
Happy TT!
I’d take time to blog hop on these recommended blogs that you listed here. Sounds really inspiring. Happy Thirteening! Thanks for dropping by.
Thanks! I’ll check our some of the posts. I immediately responded to your comment about saying no. One of the best pieces of advice I ever heard was “It’s easier to say no if you’re saying yes to something even more important.”
