MyTurn/YourTurn: Fall Fun
MyTurn: With leaves crunchcrunchcrunching under our feet, my kids and I winded through beautiful trees and over trickling streams as we explored a nature trail. To them (and me, I have to admit) it felt like we were miles away from “civilization,” and they enjoyed the fun of pretending to be on an adventure.
My daughter kept pulling out a “map,” which was a piece of Curious George notepaper that she happened to have in her pocket, and guiding us through the wilderness. When my son made the mistake of getting ahead of her on the trail, she quickly corrected him.
“No, buddy. Sissy’s the expert. Not you.”
We brought a small paper sack with us and the kids enjoyed collecting leaves that caught their eye. We had quite a sack full by the end of our adventure.
If I listened past the birds’ songs, I could hear cars zooming on the interstate a couple hundred yards away. It had taken us about twelve minutes to drive from our house to the county park. But my kids were transported by their excitement and imagination to an enchanted forest of fun.
YourTurn: Describe a favorite fall activity or memory.

Yesterday. her Chili-ness and I enjoyed a late-afternoon Fall walk in Whitecliff Park (Crestwood, MO) and along Grant’s Trail near the Grant’s Farm horse pastures. She warily went nose-to-nose with a giant Clydesdale that was grazing near the fence line.
Bob,
Your Fall fun post has inspired me and I have joined in the fun at my blog. Keep up the good work here.
Cheers,
Paul
Fall has come to us in Texas today. I did do My Turn. I wrote about my kids and our church fall festival.
LOVE the pic!
Autumn’s passed by over here. No more leaves on the streets, but I also love walking and listening to birds.
I LOVE going to my parents-in-laws’ as they live in the countryside and they have this vast land. They recently put a bird feeder nearby and I LOVE watching the many birds flitting around that thing while singing joyful songs. Splendid!!!
