The Saint Francis Project
I’ve been missing the collaboration with other bloggers that came as a result of The Desiderata Project. So, I’ve decided to try to organize another project for February, The Saint Francis Project. I’m looking for other bloggers who would be willing to write four posts during the month of February that interpret, reflect on, or apply The Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi. We’ll break the prayer down into four sections, which should allow bloggers leeway to find a phrase that appeals to them. Bloggers will of course have complete freedom to personalize and write whatever they choose.
Bloggers will post their material on their own blogs. This blog will simply serve as a “hub” for the project. Throughout the month of February I will be linking to bloggers partcipating in the project, and will encourage participants to link one another to enhance the collaborative spirit of the project.
Please indicate by commenting that you intend to participate in the project. Feel free to link to this post on your blog to help get the word out.
I look forward to reading everyone’s thoughts and reflections on this beautiful work.
Week One: February 1-9
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
Week Two: Februrary 10-16
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
Week Three: February 17-23
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
Week Four: February 24-March 1
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

Count me in!
And of course, you can count me in. Are we posting on a specific day during each week? The reason I am asking is because that will make it easier to link with all the participants. Just curious.
I’d like to participate. Let me know what day(s) and how to proceed.
You can count me in, also. That prayer has been a part of my spiritual foundation over the years and has special meaning to me as I was named (middle) after him.
Let me know the details.
There is a chapter in “The Depression Advantage” book about Saint Francis that you can read for free at http://www.bipolaradvantage.com/Publishing/Books/DepressionAdvantage/SaintFrancis.html
The conclusion of the chapter is amazing. It changed my way of looking at depression and made me realize the important role that depression played in his life. It is great that you are putting this project together.
I would love to be a part of this!

I would absolutely love to be part of this. I have St. Francis and his prayer on my website, http://www.dragonflycottage.com and have for years. I live with 12 animals, all rescues, and am a Franciscan at heart. Just today I took in a Greater Sulfur Crested Cockatoo who had been taken out of a bad situation and was now plucking. She is happy here, she has come home, and is such a love. I have, now, 6 parrots, 4 dogs and 2 beta fish. None are too large or small, and I have dedicated my life to compassion, loving-kindness and opening my home to animals in need.
Blessings to you for your good work. I was about to do a blog update on Blossom’s arrival today and shall combine it with the St. Francis prayer for my first week’s entry!
Thank you so much for doing this…
